Kawasaki Jet Ski

Kawasaki (Kawasaki Heavy Industries) is one of the largest international corporations in Japan. This is also one of the oldest companies in Japan founded in 1896. Kawasaki was originally a shipbuilding company, but over the years thanks to the advance of technology and the ability of this company to follow the latest tech trends they have expanded their area of interest. Today Kawasaki is best known for its all-terrain vehicles (ATV) and motorcycles. However, these are not the only industries where Kawasaki operates. They are also known for production of aerospace equipment, small engines, trains, tractors and personal water craft (jet skis).

Kawasaki Jet Ski Overview

Although Kawasaki decided to become part of this market about two decades after the first personal water craft was introduced in the public, they were the first to present a Jet Ski watercraft in 1973. They have actually introduced two models on the market – Kawasaki WSAA and WSAB. What is interesting is the fact that these watercrafts were accepted by water sports enthusiasts almost instantly. It is not an exaggeration if we say that Kawasaki actually revolutionized this industry. The first personal water crafts designed in Europe were replaced by Japanese high-quality, modern machines with excellent performances. Kawasaki managed to implement their latest engine technology in these two models. Today, these watercrafts are used for many different purposes – recreation, sport and public safety. Over the years, Kawasaki introduced more than a dozen of different Jet Ski models and they always tend to create watercrafts that will provide reduced fuel consumption, lower emissions, reduced noise, better appearance and better overall performance. Kawasaki is a synonym for quality in this industry and there are many old Kawasaki PWC models that are still running as good as when they were new. Owners usually look for used jet ski parts if they encounter some problem and the watercrafts continue to run smoothly.

Most Popular Kawasaki Jet Ski Models

WSAA and WSAB (1973)

We cannot start the overview of the best models without mentioning the first two models that actually made Kawasaki Jet Ski line so popular. As previously mentioned WSAA and WSAB were the first jet ski watercrafts in the world. Unlike modern jet skis, these two models used 2-stroke double cylinder engines which were designed in a way that produced a lot of thrust. They were known for their flexibility and easy maneuverability and they were able to run in really shallow waters. These two models were used as an example for modern watercrafts. The impeller pump was completely covered and enclosed which means that the safety was significantly increased compared to older PWC models. One of the main differences between WSAA and WSAB was their appearance – the first one had a flat hull while the second one came with a bowl-shaped hull.

Kawasaki Jet Ski X-2

This is another proof about the creative abilities of Kawasaki designing team. Kawasaki Jet Ski X-2 (1986) was one of the first two-passenger models that comes with sit-down and stand up option. The amazing feeling that jet skiing provides was now available for more than one rider at once. This model had two stroke twin pumping with a capacity of 635cc. It also had 52hp running at 6000 rpm. The developers have also managed to add a sophisticated exhaust system that led to reduction of noise levels. In addition, X-2 model had an adjustable trim and handle- something that was never seen before. The excellent maneuverability and sport appearance were some of the reasons why this model became so popular. This is also the first model that belongs to the so-called sport class of jet skis.

Kawasaki Jet Mate

Kawasaki 650-class was one of the most popular series of this company. This particular model was based on the drive and engine system found in this class. It included a 3-seat and boat-like hull. In addition, this is the first model with a joystick control and special hull design that increased the watercraft’s stability for 25% compared to the previous models. Since Kawasaki Jet Mate had 2 hooks at the back it was very often used for towing other malfunctioning watercrafts.

Kawasaki Jet Ski STX-15F

There were few other models from Kawasaki featuring a 4-stroke pumping, but STF-15F was one of the watercrafts with the most powerful engine (1500 cc). This model from 2004 also has an advanced fuel injection system designed in a way to use the power of the fuel to the maximum without creating much pollution.

Kawasaki Jet Ski 800 SX-R

This is another great model from Kawasaki Het Ski offer. Although this model is really powerful it comes with a design that provides maximum stability. This means that this particular model is excellent choice for both experienced professionals and beginners who are looking for fun. It comes with a two-stroke, twin cylinder engine with a capacity of 780 cc. It also includes dual Mikuni BN40 carburetors. Although this is a relatively old model it is still popular because of its performance and construction. So, it is no surprise why people are still looking for used jet ski parts for 800 SX-R model.

Kawasaki Jet Ski Ultra 250X

This model was created for one reason – Kawasaki was looking for a way to dominate PWC races. It turned out that this 2007 model was exactly what they were looking for. Back in those days, this was the most powerful model of watercraft of this type. Since the engine was larger and more powerful they had to construct a bigger hull. In addition, they have also improved the handling in rough waters.

Kawasaki Jet Ski 800 SX-R

This is one of the latest Kawasaki PWC models. It features the standard two-stroke engine, but it can reach high speed very fast which makes it especially popular for short races. This model was one of the best selling stand-up models on the market in the past few years.
There is no doubt that Kawasaki will continue producing excellent new PWCs although with small modifications and by buying used jet ski parts the old models are ideal for both recreational and professional use.
